I've had a lot of people ask me about
my barn. I figured since I've had so much interest in it
that it was time to give the barn its own page. My barn
is a 20x20 Metal Carport. I purchased mine used, but the
company it was made by was out of the Northern Tool
catalog. There are 6 stalls. One I used as a Tack room,
but I can always clean it out and put another horse in.

First using metal/wood screws the
entire barn was framed. Anywhere we had to drill into
the metal poles we used the metal screws. All the rest
was regular wood screws. The door size is 6ft

Once framed the wood was cut and put
on the sides. The wood used for the barn was a pine
shiplack. The shiplack had a tongued edge which allowed
for every piece to almost lock in onto of each other.

Then the inside framing gets
completed. We framed it so that the doors for the stalls
would be 3ft wide. Then the stalls were built so that I
could remove boards and open up my stalls to double
stalls. Stalls are approximately 6x6. Approximately
40-45" tall. I got the height according to my tallest
mini. We measured him and went from there on the height.

I wanted the horses to still be able
to see each other but not be able to reach in at one
another. I also didn't want them to feel claustrophobic.
I have a mini who had bad experiences with being stalled
and not being able to see outside of the stall. So the
lattice was brought in to allow for safe viewing.

Last the barn track was put on and the
doors were built. We went for more of and Amish door
look.

And there you have it!
